Low upstream speed

I joined PN 6 weeks ago.  My downstream speed (my.broadbandspeed.co.uk) is about 1887 kbs,
but my upstream speed has dropped to 1kbs (on a good day 2kbs).  Is this normal?
I am running a Macbook Pro laptop with OS X 10.6.8.
The wireless router is the Thomson unit supplied by PN with firmware 8.2.7.8.
The DSL Connection data is attached below.
The BT broadband speed test fails on test 1 upload speed: only 4 threads!: an error has occurred!
I have raised a question (49235196) but without any response.
Any ideas would be gratefully welcomed!

Re: Low upstream speed

It might be worth having a read here - I suggest starting at the last post and working backwards - http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,92497.0.html

Re: Low upstream speed

HI jms,
Are the tests done wired or wirelessly?

Re: Low upstream speed

Dear Jojo
BT was via ethernet,  my.broadbandspeed.co.uk  was via wireless.
I've just repeated the latter but via ethernet: D1965kbs, Up 381kbs, which is more
reasonable.  Does this mean that  PN's six-week-old router is u/s for wireless?
Thank you for the prompt response.

Re: Low upstream speed

Are you getting a different upload speed wirelessly than via ethernet? Smiley

Re: Low upstream speed

Dear Jojo
The speeds I gave you were via ethernet.  I have repeated them using wireless
getting D1992, Up 31,  Thus the wireless up speed is 12 times slower than the
ethernet one.

Re: Low upstream speed

HI jms,
I'll see if I can locate a TG585v7 router for you, this will resolve the issue.

Hi jms,
You're welcome. I've popped it in 1st class post, so you should get it tomorrow hopefully.
