Low upspeed connection

I'm using a Draytek 2600 router to connect and these are the current results:
Up Speed 224000
Down Speed 5312000
SNR Margin 13.5
Loop Att. 36.5
Speedtests roughly match 4Mb/0.18Mbit
Anything I can do to improve my upload connection?

Re: Low upspeed connection

Can you give us the upstream stats - noise margin and attenuation.
As you say something is badly wrong.
Have you ever had 448kbps upload sync speed

Re: Low upspeed connection

have you tried at the test socket to see if you get the same upspeed sync or not?

Re: Low upspeed connection

I don't know how to get the upstreat stats, hence I didn't post them.
I'm at the main socket with no phone plugged in.

You can also telnet into the CLI to get a fair bit more information.
    telnet://192.168.1.1
    The required command is:
    > show adsl

Default username "admin", the password is left blank.

I had that problem which was down to a bad line card in the exchange - Can you hear noise on the line when doing the quiet line test 17070 option 2

Re: Low upspeed connection

I did the line test (after digging out a phone!) and I could just about hear some hiss.

Re: Low upspeed connection

This explains it
Far Current Attenuation :    31.5  dB    Far SNR Margin      :    7.0  dB
Basically your upstream attenuation is far too high and that is killing your upstream speed.
Hearing a faint hiss is unlikely to cause the problem you are seeing.
As Asbo Dog asked can you try the test socket - I think that is a forlorn hope as problems with your internal wiring usually show up in the upstream speed but something is really messing up.
Can you install Routerstats http://www.vwlowen.co.uk/internet/files.htm which will work on your router  and see if you can get to this page

Re: Low upspeed connection

I don't seem to have a telnet router tab, but my version is later.
the router stats page doesn't quite look right either.
Having just looked at where I'm plugged in, I'm remembering things... The test socket is dead, I get no dial tone at all. I recall I found a nearby socket, tried it, and it worked, so that's what I've been using ever since! (moved in and that's how I found it).

Re: Low upspeed connection

If the test socket is dead that isn't the master socket.
Now comes the difficult bit.
We are going to need to find the master socket.
Can you find where the BT cable enters the house and what it connects to first.
To get the telnet tab in Routerstats you need to go into configuration (the icon whuch looks like a gear) and select telnet which will give something like this picture.
If you click on the help in Routerstats and search for Draytek it tell you how to set it up.

Re: Low upspeed connection

The only working socket is a cr@ppy extension one. I think someone played silly bu66ers (you should see the rest of the DIY in the house!)
I did as suggested and use the draytek ini file but no change
OK, how do I make photobucket images work?
Oh never mind, they've reduced the pic size so you can't read anything anyway!

Re: Low upspeed connection

it is clear when after clicking on it you then click again - I get a circle with a square inside it as a cursor indicating that it can be enlarged
The bits we will be interested in is System Status and WAN status - at the moment it isn't showing anything because, I assume, you rebooted 1 hr 58 min before

Re: Low upspeed connection

It's just not showing the status screen properly. I'll post a pic of the actual page the router displays when I get home from work.

Re: Low upspeed connection

I'm concerned about the apparently lack of a amaster socket.
You say that you're using an extension socket, where does the extension plug into?
