Low profile

Just noticed router was syning at 18db snr and 8mb/s
Rebooted and it's back to 6db, and 17mb/s - but the plusnet profile is still at 8. Will this change automatically? (if so, when) Or will I have to wait for plusnet to correct it?

Re: Low profile

It could rake an hour or two depending on when BTOR ships the delta and the update script runs.
The update script should drop the PPP session, though sometimes you need to do it manually.

Re: Low profile

OK - profile has updated on "high speed broadband" but I'm still only getting download speeds (and speedtests) of < 7Mb/s
Router conected at 18011
Current line speed:
15.5 Mb
Any ideas? Or do I need to wait for something else to update?

Re: Low profile

Did the PPP session disconnect when the profile changed? If not, then you just need to disconnect and re-connect via your router's web interface.

Re: Low profile

That could be it. Although I've not found a way to drop the PPP session without rebooting the router. (It's an asus DSL55U)

EDIT:
OK - managed to force it by changing the username, then back again.
That's fixed it, thanks.

don't bank on the update script dropping the PPP though.
last 2 times my profile was updated i had to drop PPP myself.
