I specifically asked in a ticket if I would keep my IP block if I moved to unlimited, was told yes, and I even 'phoned to arrange the upgrade and asked the same question again, to confirm it.
If I lost my IP block, or it was changed, it would cause me a lot of work. I use multiple public IP's, have a somewhat unusual routing setup locally with two dedicated servers, a NATed VLAN, and an openBSD box as a firewall/router after a modem in half-bridging mode. Changing everything would take me a long time and lot of troubleshooting. Mostly because I can't even remember half of the places I've configured stuff.
I really hope things go smoothly on January 5th for me...

It's showing free for 3 months then £2 month here too. Not a problem, as I won't use it either.
Richard.

If it should be free, does that not indicate a potential problem as there are at least two on here (myself included) to whom this is no longer showing as free?
It's a known problem (ref: 73930).

I have Unlimited (new package) but don't have the option of free Plusnet Protect either should I wish to avail of it. Is it easy enough to add this free option on?

Quote from: The but can see how it could be problematic for some.
There's an FTP server I occasionally use which has very tight access control, it has a list of IP addresses which are allowed. If my fixed IP address changed it would cause me bother. I haven't ordered Unlimited!

Quote from: Chris ... those of you that are concerned about losing static IP should be able to switch to the new Unlimited without worry soon.
Thanks Chris......but I had every confidence

I could have phrased it better
Incidentally I have attached a screen grab of my running JD Speed tester.
Note the D/L speed increase of between 0.4 and 0.5 Mb/s after the product change.
