Lose WiFi signal

At 7pm and 8pm every day we lose the WiFi signal in our house - all devices impacted. Lasts approximately 2 minutes maximum each time. Why does this happen every day?

Which Hub/router are you using?

Re: Lose WiFi signal

Do you or a neighbour (home or business) have something that happens at those times? Security camera come on; industrial process (seems unlikely for 7 and 8 pm); etcetera. Or, they just start using their internet - in which case one of you changing the channel used (to or from auto, or a fixed number) might fix it.

Do you know if it's on both bands (2.4 and 5 GHz)?

Re: Lose WiFi signal

@G6JPG-0 I think you are going the wrong way here - if it happens daily at the same time, and just for a couple of minutes, it is more likely to be a lease renewal, although the fact it happens 'at 7PM and 8PM' is strange.

If the OP replies to my question, we can examine the error log report and make a more informed recommendation.

Re: Lose WiFi signal

I was hoping you would say you had the Hub2, but as it is the H1, can you post your Event Log - found under the 'Troubleshooting' tab?

Re: Lose WiFi signal

@GC007 Just to be sure that it's actually the WIFI that's dripping "WIFI means different things to different people. When the drop occurs does the DSL/broadband light flash? here @ http://visualradius.plus.net/visualradius/generated/image17164782108883.png you can see that the actual broadband does appear to be dropping. Do you have any other networking tech connected like switched, hubs, meshs, powerline adapters or WIFI boosters or is it just the router?

Can you try a device via ethernet to see if it also happens?

Re: Lose WiFi signal

@James30 That appears to be one xDSL drop at 1500 - not daily at 1900 and 2000. I still think sight of the error log would be useful here.

Re: Lose WiFi signal

Forgive me that was meant to say "you can see that the actual broadband doesn't appear to be dropping."

Re: Lose WiFi signal

Thank you all for taking the time to reply, it is very much appreciated. It has been helpful to establish this isn't an issue encountered by other Plusnet users, therefore something more localised for me. Cheers.

Re: Lose WiFi signal

@GC007 If you want a better explanation, as I said above, sight of your Hubs error log would be very helpful.
