Linespeed dropped considerably

On Monday, download speed shown on the router dropped considerably from 2200 or so down to about 1200. It normally connects at somewhere between 2200 and 2400 giving an IP profile of 1750 or 2000.
The IP profile dropped to 1MB.
I rebooted the router and it came back to showing  2144 immediately. This has stayed constant since, but the IP profile has stayed at 1MB and the speed tests at 1.06. I thought that this should reset after a maximum of 3 days.
I reported this (on-line) yesterday , but there has been no comment and no improvement.
I ran a PN line-test but no fault is showing. I changed the filter, but can't see how this might affect things. I rebooted again this morning, but that has come back without change (2144).
Where can I go from here?
