Line drop - IP profile halved?

Had a couple of unattributable line drops earlier this evening. After the second I reconnected at only half the normal speed - rebooted the router and everything returned to normal except my profile which is now at 3Mb instead of 6Mb. Can someone reset my profile please.
Many thanks
Mike

Re: Line drop - IP profile halved?

Hi,
Further to my last post here are the results of a BT speed check:
BT 23/03/11 0845
Download speed achieved during the test was - 2661 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 1200-4000 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :7390 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 444 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 3000 Kbps
The throughput of Best Efforts (BE) classes achieved during the test is - 12.81:23.07:64.13 (SBE:NBE:PBE)
These figures represent the ratio while sententiously passing Sub BE, Normal BE and Priority BE marked traffic.
Router stats are more or less the same.
Seems BT have altered the banding due to 1 bad connection Cry
Can it be lifted again?
Cheers
Mike

Re: Line drop - IP profile halved?

Your line isn't banded, you're currently syncing above the current profile so that will increase by itself over the next few days (normally takes 72 hours). We can't directly affect your profile as currently everything is as it should be.

Re: Line drop - IP profile halved?

Thanks Chris - what made me think it was banding was the line in the speedtest
"For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 1200-4000 Kbps."
Any ideas on the half speed connection? The line dropped and reconnected at exactly half the speed it normally does.
Anyway everything seems to have returned to normal so will play the waiting game as you suggest Roll_eyes
Thanks
Mike

Re: Line drop - IP profile halved?

It just sounds like interference or noise on the line caused the issue, if the profile doesn't increase in 72 hours let us know.
