Re: Line Speed and IP Profile low

Hi Bitemeh,
I have tested your line and can see that there were a number of disconnections of your service yesterday evening (approx 11pm).  It looks like from the DLM data that your connection rate (sync rate) dropped from 8128kbps to as low as 416kbps.  This has resulted in an IP profile of 350kbps.  Your sync rate is currently showing at 8128kbps as normal which will have prompted a scheduled IP profile change back up to 7150kbps.  Bear in mind that this can take up to 72 hours to go through.  All you need to do is ensure your modem remains powered on and connected and your IP profile will update automatically shortly.
Any problems let us know.

Given the percentage change it should happen a lot, lot quicker than that! Your sync speed has changed by over 2000% so the increase in IP Profile should happen in less than 4 hours. See http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/IPprofile.htm#IPprofile_increase_time

HI Bitemeh,
I've just checked and it's still a 350 IP profile I'm afraid.

In my recent experience John, Jojo & Bitemeh, it's not always happening as quick as it should  Shocked

I know I've seen them raise quickly at times but to be honest I'm not sure whether that's still the case and I'm not sure when kitz was last updated Smiley

Re: Line Speed and IP Profile low

Why is his acceptable speed range as low as it is?

I wouldn't pay too much heed to that. Probably an anomaly. What's yours?

Re: Line Speed and IP Profile low

Without wishing to detract from the OP's issue, when you get stupid throughput results often associated with a low profile, it does tend to give a ridiculous "acceptable range of speeds" . It obviously doesn't look at the FTR (that'd be too clever!).
Mine currently says "the acceptable range of speeds is 1.2 Mbps-7.15 Mbps."   1.2Mbps is well below my FTR, so if I was getting that speed due to some sort of fault and OR/Btw tried to tell me it was OK, not only would I be tearing my hair out but the air would be blue  Shocked

Re: Line Speed and IP Profile low

The anomaly was referring to the "acceptable range of speeds" quoted, not your actual problem.
Is the BT speedtester still giving the same IP profile?
