Hi,
I'm constantly getting < 5Mbps on my new 78Mbps FTTC line.
Everything was working great immediately after the install, but now it's going like a dog.
It's happening at all times of the day.
Raised it with PlusNet support last week, but nothing back yet.
The PlusNet data speed page says:
Phone exchange:
SALE
Estimated line speed:
79Mb (Download speed could vary depending on line conditions. Estimates are the maximum speeds that your phone line can support. These speeds are dependent on the package you choose.) - Checked on 2014-02-07 15:18:19
Current line speed:
5.1 Mb
The BT wholesale checker says:
and when I run further diagnostics, it says:
Please can someone advise?
Thanks.

- Test was not conclusive and further testing required
Please can someone advise?
Thanks.

For some reason your current line speed dropped back to its ADSL value.
I've just given that a kick for you now and if you log into your router and disconnect then reconnect your session you should see a improvement
If you're still having issues please let us know

Thanks for the quick response.
I can see that the plusnet data transfer page now says 78Mbps against current line speed.
However, things have improved a little when running speed tests, but they are no where near back to the speeds I used to be getting.
I'm now getting a reported 27 to 28Mbps from the speedtest.net and the BT wholesale checker.
Will this gradually creep up again, or is there still a problem?
Thanks.

Make sure you are testing the speed with a wired connection (not wireless) - mine varies between 17 and 34 on a wireless connection.

Thanks re: wifi, but definitely testing on a wired gigabit LAN.
I'd also tested directly via the master socket with all my local network disconnected.

Seems sorted now. Speedtest just reported 65Mbps.
Thanks for the prompt reply. But why can't standard customer service be so fast and helpful as the forums? I raised a ticket last week for this.
