Latency spikes

Morning all, struggling to diagnose an issue whereby the most visible symptom is video calls / MS Teams "pause".

A consistent theme is latency and although normally low, it shoots up. I've attached a simple graph from one tool, and there does seem to be something causing spikes that can reach 3/4 seconds that would account for the symptoms.

Next step is to work out where it's happening.

The PC is connected directly via RJ45 to the hub, however other devices are connected.

Any thoughts?

Re: Latency spikes

As you are on ADSL it is likely video calls are saturating your upload bandwidth. Does it still happen if you have your camera off during a call?

Re: Latency spikes

Hi there, part of the troubleshooting was to go back to basics, so direct wired connection to laptop, disconnect external monitor (as 4k monitors cause known issues), disconnect external camera / keyboard / mouse / conf phone and turned off video in and out.
I still get a brief pause within words or drop outs.
Also ran a latency test and see issues. Will try and add in details later tonight

Not sure if this is a red herring or not
