Keep losing connection (No resync)

Yesterday I lost connection and had to restart my router (Dlink DIR-655). Earlier it did it again but when I rebooted the router it still would not connect. I ended up rebooting the HG612 instead. When I checked the stats it has now deactivated DLM and put me on the fastest connection speed (Good). But I had to disconnected from the DHCP and reconnect to get my full upload speed (not so good). Now only a short while ago it disconnected me again (network icon had a yellow exclamation mark and no web pages would load) and the router had to obtain an IP once again. I checked the HG612 stats and no resync had occurred. So it looks like it's something to do with my connection to PlusNet's servers (Not the VDSL syncing). Or maybe my router is dying who knows???
Any ideas?

Re: Keep losing connection (No resync)

Hi there,
If you suspect a possible problem with the router I'd advise ruling it out of the equation.
You'd need to set up a direct PPP connection between the PC and Openreach modem to do that:
Please see here http://community.plus.net/library/broadband/fibre-help-how-to-set-up-a-pppoe-dialler-in-vistawindows...
and here: http://community.plus.net/library/broadband/fibre-help-setting-up-a-pppoe-dialler-for-windows-xp/ (assuming either is appropriate)
Let us know how you get on.
