Just migrated from Metronet PayG3 @ 8Mbps: Now v slow speed!

Hi, I've been with Metronet PayG3 for 7 years and yesterday I got the confirmation emails (thank your for a very fast and smooth migration) that I was now on Plusnet's Pro service with Static IP address.  Up to that point I was enjoying download speeds of ~6.7Mbs.  My observations:
1) My Billion ADSL2+ router is still locking at 8Mbps: i was hoping for ADSL2 speeds to kick in (my exchange is enabled)
2) Pings are v good approx 21ms but my download speeds (with the various online speed testers) show less than 0.5Mbps!!!
Is there a waiting game here?
Apologies for raising the query but I thought that with the Metronet to Plusnet migration I wouldn't be experiencing any degradation at all.

Worth checking the BT speedtest for the IP profile and the current line speed here https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=data_transfer_speed

That explains the problem.
Can you run the BT speedtest http://217.35.209.142/ and report the IP profile

You will need to phone support and ask that the Plusnet profile is changed to match the BT one.
Why this happened I don't know but i seem to remember it happening before

Hi nicosat2001,
I've changed the profile on our side to 7150 so you should start to see the speed shortly. However, from checking the BT systems it seems that you're on ADSL1 on 21CN. Did you request this or would you prefer ADSL2+ It may seem like a silly question but I have to ask before making such changes to a customer's account.

@nicosat2001 I've placed the order for your line to be regraded to ADSL2+ which should complete on the 10th May. I have sent you a ticket as confirmation of that.

Completely satisfied with Plusnet's Support and my line now is already showing speeds close to 6.9Mbps.

My profile was set to 17Mbps however yesterday I noticed that it dropped to 11Mpbs.  Is there an explanation for this?  I run the full BT test which confirmed the rate.  Also, is my profile properly configured with the Pro addon?
