I'm seeing ping spikes that is making (any) gaming impossible during the evening. It's not isolated to gaming traffic either:
C:UsersSteven>ping -t www.bbc.co.uk
Pinging www.bbc.net.uk [212.58.246.93] with 32 bytes of data:

Ping statistics for 212.58.246.93:
Packets: Sent = 34, Received = 34, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 58ms, Maximum = 444ms, Average = 119ms
This was earlier this evening. It's now pretty much rock-steady at around 55ms. My guess is it's congestion. Did not have any problems with my BE connection, so regretting the move to PlusNet atm.

1. That I only have half the upstream speed I had with BE. Is that normal?
2. The FEC errors are high, but a quick Google implies that's probably not a problem.
I've raised a ticket with support, although I've not made much progress yet. My guess is still congestion.

Quote ** ADSL2+ circuits are provisioned at 448Kb/s by default. Speeds can be uncapped on request using the Help Assistant.
If your exchange is 21CN, you can request the uncap at no extra cost - you can check your exchange status here http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange_search

Quote /line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 21,0 / 32,5
DSL Type: ITU-T G.992.1
With that attenuation you should be on G.992.5 (adsl2+)
Maybe you have been provisioned on 21cn Adsl instead of Adsl2+ ?
Might be worth asking for fastpath as well if your gaming
Cheers

Sam says......:
21CN WBC status: Not available
Does that mean I'm out of luck?

It looks like you're out of luck until the exchange is upgraded - I believe you can get your upload speed increase, but I think it's an extra £7.83 a month.
