Just connected to fibre

Just been connected to fibre this morning  i am around 400 metres from the cab and was expecting around
59Mb. so done a few speedtests from the modem and  as you can see from my sig i am getting close to 80Mb. Smiley
Question is, is this likely to stay at this speed or will it gradually fall back to around 60Mb.

Re: Just connected to fibre

I had an estimated 50.4 Mb but synced initially at 72 ish, it's gone down to around 65 but is currently back up at 74.
I think it all depends on how stable your connection is at the higher speeds.

Re: Just connected to fibre

I'm due an install on Thursday and BT's estimate was a massive 9.9DL (currently at 6 on ADSL so not exactly a great upscale!)
Dave on here did run through the table and estimated much higher based on my cab distance estimate at 450m, but the figures here are certainly encouraging
Fingers crossed

Re: Just connected to fibre

You'll get "bored" of the speed eventually  Grin
Seriously though, I think that a 20-30Mb connection is more than enough for most people / families. I rarely use more than that unless I'm downloading a Linux image or similar.
Fingers crossed you'll keep your speeds Smiley
