You should be doing better than you are

Have you tried dialling 17070 Option 2 for a quiet line test? Have you tried jiggling the plug on the ADSL lead from the router to see if it is noisy in the BT socket? Dirty contacts can be an overlooked cause of an unreliable connection.

No I didn't try as I don't have a phone at home. And I don't think that dirt can be a problem here, as connection is always ok in the middle of the night. It feels like I am sharing it with the whole block and it works ok only at 4 a.m.
