Not a suggestion, but a note of caution - you may have problems finding an ISP who offers static IP's - I have IPV4/IPV6, but only the /4 version is truly static. The /6 changes at random intervals, although those seem to be getting longer - I can't confirm that, because it is not something I tend to look at, I only check my router logs when I need to, and that is very infrequently.

I'm not really after a static IP per se, I'd just be happy to buy one if it was an option and if it would fix it. I'm mostly after fixing the latency spikes and packet loss.
Like Outcast suggested, I've already tried implementing SQM etc and nothing has made a difference thus far. I'm sure the issue is somewhere in the BT/Plusnet network, I just hope someone is able to fix it sooner rather than later.

The reasoning behind advising you that @outcast was not a plusnet customer was so you were aware the traceroute/MTR results could be different, also as to why they had a IPv6 address. Not sure why they thought it necessary to show MTR results for IPv6 when IPv4 was your likely protocol.
Have you considered or have you set up a Thinkbroadband Broadband Quality Checker.

As a matter of interest do you know the make and model of your ONT?

Do you mean the IPv6 block changes, or just the device address within the block? A static IPv6 block shouldn't change, but addresses within that range can depending on your DHCP controller.

@corringham Not something I've taken much notice of too be honest, as I say, it is not something I religiously check, only really notice when I visit the routers log, which can be weeks/months apart.
Also, I am not certain my IPV6 address is static, and don't care one way or the other.

@corringham I admit ignorance with regard to the configuration of IPV6 addresses, but, checking my TBB speed test logs, and selecting an old one - for 'security' this is what was reported: 2a02:8012:111c:0:2879:43ca:42f6:80b8. The characters after :111c:0: are all randomly different. All the tests are run on one machine.

I did try to call you; however, I was unable to reach you. I have had a look at the line on my end, while I am unable to find any faults on the line, I can see an issue with the setup from my systems here I can see you are using the HUB Two as a modem and the GL-MT6000 as a router however it does not appear that the Hub two is in bridge mode from my end alougth my information my not be accurate have you tried to plug the router GL-MT6000 directly into the ONT without using the HUB Two as a bridge?

@Marsh Using the Hub2 in Bridge or modem only mode is only possible on a VDSL2 service, not FTTP (Full Fibre) The Op should not need to use the Hub2 at all and as you say connect the router directly to the ONT which is effectively the modem.

Hello,
I'm sorry for not answering your call, I've been driving for the majority of the day. Your information is correct, currently the hub 2 is going into the ONT which is providing to the MT-6000 via DHCP. I've only done this recently as I've been trying all sorts of configurations to try get rid of this issue. If I plug the MT-6000 into the ONT the issue remains, if I just use the Hub 2 the issue remains. I just thought as my previous connection was DHCP based that it could've been a PPPoe issue I could circumnavigate but that doesn't seem to be the case either. I thought I'd leave it with this setup so plusnet can at least contact their router for diagnostics if required.

How have you configured the WAN port on the MT-6000, Auto negotiate or 2500Mbps?
The Hub Two LAN and WAN ports are only 1000Mbps, also the ONT is also likely to have a 1000Mbps ethernet port.
It is not unusual for Auto Neg ports connected to fixed speed port causing severe performance network issues; duplex mismatch, high error rates and packet loss.

You should factory reset the flint 2, connect this directly to the ont and input your username and password for the ppoe connection and change nothing else. See how that goes over a 24-48 hour period.

The MT-6000 is configured to auto-configuration. Unless I'm being ultra blind I can't see a way to change it to manual negotiation? You can apparently do it via ethtool but I lost internet when trying this, I will experiment with a few more settings and get back to you on that one. I've attached a couple of BQMs from the week, the ones attached were with the MT-6000 using PPPoe directly into the ONT. I'm more than happy to reset the router and try again but that would be the third time within two weeks.

If the setting is auto-negotiate then there is nothing to change
Using ethtool you can check the current config, assuming the NIC name is eth0.
ethtool eth0 | grep speed <- this will present the current speed
ethtool eth0 | grep auto-negotiation <- this will present the current setting - Yes is what you are looking for.
With the Hub Two the settings are hard set to auto negotiate
This is from this morning, apart from the gap around 10:30 which looks like the graph was paused, any thoughts of what might be happening on your LAN during the dropped packets?
