Yep - That's right.
I managed to place an order to recap your capped line

I left my router on overnight for the past couple of nights, and at around 8am this (Mon) morning it looks like my upstream was freed up again. I'm currently syncing at 655.
I don't think I'm getting a lot of errors - I never did get many errors on the upstream line anyway, which is why I was so puzzled when it was capped.
This is what DMT is reporting at the moment (ca 12 hours uptime):
near-end FEC error fast: 0
near-end FEC error interleaved:29219
near-end CRC error fast: 0
near-end CRC error interleaved: 56
near-end HEC error fast: 0
near-end HEC error interleaved: 0
far-end FEC error fast: 0
far-end FEC error interleaved: 321
far-end CRC error fast: 0
far-end CRC error interleaved: 21
far-end HEC error fast: 0
far-end HEC error interleaved: 44
I think the near-end relates to downstream, which is banded. Let me know if I'm wrong.
Graham

Router resynced overnight. Looks like the upstream cap has been removed:
Uptime: 0 days, 7:43:04
DSL Type: G.992.3 annex A
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 920 / 3,264
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [MB/MB] 31.88 / 614.40
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12.5 / 0.0
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 27.0 / 46.5
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 5.5 / 10.0
Vendor ID (Local/Remote): TMMB / IFTN
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 11 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 1 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Link (Remote): 0
Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 1 / 0
FEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 0
CRC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 90
HEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 41
Many thanks James.
I still find it amazing that my upstream sync rate doubles while my downstream subbornly refuses to show the slightest improvement no matter what I do. Oh well...

Had another resync from the BT end this morning. Upstream speed has gone up from 655 to 693. (For comparison, 805's the best I've ever had, and 775 was normal for quite a while.). Upstream SNR is a constant 8 - I'd like it to get down to 5 again.
By the way, is there a difference between capping and banding on the upstream line? I've seen both terms used for lines that are limited to a maximum of 448 or thereabouts. Are there any other cut-off points?

Hi Graham,
Capping is when we place an order restricting upstream to 448Kbps.
Banding is what BT do when they restrict sync speeds. Yours was banded.

Are there any upstream bands other than 448? Just curious.
Had a BT-end resync this morning, and my upstream line is now back to 775 with SNR 5. Downstream is still, of course, banded at 3069. So, back to 'normal'.

Hi Graham,
As far as I know, it is only possible to have a 448Kbps cap on upstream. But then yours is the only one I've ever seen, so it's possible that I'm wrong.
