Is this because I am now using a router?

a Netgear DG834G.... I get this message from the BT Speed Tester
Quote
The IP address discovered on the network associated with your telephone number:xxxx xxxxxx, did not match the one we have logged from this browser/connection.
If it is what and how do I adjust in the router's settings, please?
No one has to agree with my opinion, but in the time I have left a miracle would be nice.

it's just a problem with the BT tester ... from experience it happens when the tester is very busy

This happens from time to time and is a BT tester issue. Just try again later.

Re: Is this because I am now using a router?

Thanks guys : I had wondered as I never seem to get a success since changing over to the router. Just coincidence then, but what a naff effort from BT.
OT but yesterday I had two momentary blips. One caused by lightning which tool out the whole of my small town. On both occasions the resync was higher than before and now it's at the highest I've known it. Bet it won't last though. Sad Wink
