Hi PN
Just checked my usage and it says i have used 41.55KB paid for usage today (which would be after 8am)
I have been at work since 7.30am and theres no one at home
My network is secure and that
Any ideas?

41.55KB is a small amount of data and is perfectly normal for background traffic passing over to and from your router even when you aren't using your computer.
I've just had a quick look and it's as I thought, your router is connected and therefore there will be a small amount of data transferred across your connection.

Entirely at your own discretion, my router hasn't been turned off for a few months, and then it was only because I moved house. Some people like to turn if off, some like to leave it on, personal preference.

I would say no.  If you turn it back on in the evening you will more than likely get a low sync speed.  The best time to turn on is during the Morning
