Is my line banded ? (neither modem refuses to sync beyond 1152k)

- Had the Thomson 585 which used to regularly drop the line once/twice a day but I got a decent sync speed (3500) for most of last year
- Around late January, switched to a new modem (bipac 7300N) which gave a higher sync speed (4000) and stabler line. So far so good.
- This is where the problem starts - I had to configure the router and hence must have triggered the DLM with frequent reboots. IP Profile is now 750
- The router has been stable and connected for more than 3 days, yet no change in IP profile. Sync speed at 1152kbps
- Yesterday I re-attached the old Thomson - this also refused to sync beyond 1152kbps
- Switched back to the new modem, which is plugged into the test socket.
There have been no other changes to the line, nor any additional telephones etc.
Is my line banded (considering both modems refused to sync beyond 1152k)? Should I go for the 10-day line retraining ? Any advice appreciated.
Regds,
Andy

It does rather look like that. I'll check it out and see what I can find. Are you convinced it was your tinkering that caused the multiple drops then?

Yes it is banded. The line seems ok apart form that, so as long as you keep it in the test socket I'll get the banding lifted tomorrow.

Thanks so much Joanne, appreciate the effort you and the others put in
Guess, I can close my ticket now, since the forum request worked faster ! (seriously, plusnet mgmt need to take heed of this rather unusual phenomena)

Are you still in the test socket? The SNR has gone up now which has dropped your sync rate down to 2484k this morning.

Will try a reconnect now.
Now synced at 2514kbps. Now what ? line banding enforced again?

If it is in the test socket and you have tried a different filter and a different router then you should raise a fault
