Is it normal for your connection to drop when a BT engineer is adding a new...

Is it normal for your connection to drop when a BT engineer is adding a new customer to my FTTC Cabinet? the reason I ask is, a couple of times recently my connection has dropped randomly and I have gone offline for less than a minute, both times there has been a BT engineer up at the street cabinet..
this wouldn't be an issue, but both times my connection has come back with a much higher ping time, presumably because DLM has kicked in? occasionally my speed will has dropped also

There shouldn't be any impact on other lines whilst the cab is being worked on for another installation.
From our point of view the line is stable at present and connecting at around 53mb. However let us know if you're still seeing any issues.
