Is imgur.com blocked?

I'm trying to access imgur.com (popular image hosting site for reddit) and I'm getting 'cache' issues. This has nothing to do with DNS, as that is resolving fine. I can also access the site fine through my work VPN.

The requested URL could not be retrieved
While trying to retrieve the URL: http://www.imgur.com/
The following error was encountered:
    Unable to determine IP address from host name for www.imgur.com 
The dnsserver returned:
    Server Failure: The name server was unable to process this query. 
This means that:

I assume this site is being blocked by plusnet, or it is a problem with their network?

Trying to get to imgur.com gives me the following

So I bounce to my works PC and find I can hit the site with no issues all is it up sites say the site is working seems a problem at plusnet end even using other DNS servers has not helped ie set DNS to googles or opendns im still getting the same issue any ideas ?

It's a "Plusnet classic" DNS issue, possibly the same as with www.netflix.com: https://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,119405.0.html
Changing your computer's DNS server doesn't help in this case because it doesn't change the DNS server used by the IWF proxy.

Having similar problems here.  Can't access both Imgur.com or 4chan.org.  Both are getting "Firefox can't find the server at ......." errors.

Looks like there's a major DNS issue - common CDNs like http://cdn.sstatic.net/ are also not being resolved.

Just adding my voice to the thread - Imgur.com went down about 9pm and is still down but only through Plusnet - can access fine via work VPN.

Seems alright now? Getting through fine.
