Irritating PPP-drop issue

This is probably one of those things I just have to put up with but...
This morning the PPPoA session dropped meaning internet access went down but the line appeared still synched.
The router "Draytek 2800VG" showed that it was connecting but couldn't.
On forcing the line to resynch PPP connected immediately. How is it possible to have ADSL synch but no PPP service?
My standard advice at work is to power-cycle the router, it never fails but can I do better? Unlike Billion models the Draytek doesn't appear to have a way to force resynch from the UI. On the bright side Drayteks reboot fast.

Re: Irritating PPP-drop issue

I guess the best thing to do would be to test an alternative router if you've one available? That does sound like a router issue, if it's staying in sync but not connecting. Happy to look into things further for you if that doesn't help.
