http://downdetector.co.uk/problems/iplayer/news/8351-problems-at-iplayer shows others having the same issues  for a second night
To me looking at that graph more people start complaining at around the same time as last night 8pm ish, till 11pm  sounds peak time cdn capacity problems  to me  very suspicious me thinks  and before you ask no i don't trust the BBC  to tell the truth

Even the diagnostics  speedtest page wouldn't load, just kept on refusing to leave the page with the link on it

How do you stream hd with that connection

I can run an HD + two SD streams (iPlayer or Netflix or YouTube) + Xbox gaming + 3 PCs browsing + email + VoIP,  without anything breaking up.  
You just need a decent caching router to drag every last bit of performance out of the connection.

Although I do not want to speak to soon

A very pleasant evening has been had via a very capable wireless technology and plusnet using Iplayer. HD wasn't  possible 10 years ago, I never cease to be amazed at what we have available at out finger tips when it works properly.
