HI HaydnExport,
Changed to 6000 now, you should see that in the next 15 minutes.

Re: Ip profile stuck at 135 kbps

Really, really hacked off now.  Angry Had good speed for 2 days then I noticed my router kept disconnecting. This has now caused my ip profile to drop down to 250 kbps. My sync speed is 4256 kbps. Details of bt speedtest below
Download Speed
210 Kbps
0 Kbps 250 Kbps
Max Achievable Speed
Download speedachieved during the test was - 210 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 50-250 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :4256 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREA

Re: Ip profile stuck at 135 kbps

That will keep happening until you find the cause of the disconnections. Do they coincide with use of the phone? Have you got both phones plugged in again or are you still on just the one?
You need to raise an intermittent connection fault not a speed fault - perhaps as part of that BT can be persuaded to give you a proper master socket.

Hi su4stu,
Are you still in the master socket? If not you'd need to see if it drops while in there so we can definitely rule out any internal issues before progressing it.

Not able to use a test socket as BT engineer told me my house doesn't have one.

Might getting BT to provide a proper master be a good move? (not sure why it wasn't done when the engineer visited last time)

Re: Ip profile stuck at 135 kbps

@jelv, that's why I said master socket and not test socket. I maybe should have rephrased it as main socket. Smiley

Re: Ip profile stuck at 135 kbps

Hadn't  it plugged in to main socket as it's in kitchen and nowhere to sit router permanently. Had set phones etc back up as usual and as I said had been having really good speed till today. Dont want to disconnect router again to connect to main socket as I don't want to reduce speed further ( if that makes sense).

HI su4stu,
I understand why you don't want to but we can't rule out internal wiring or equipment otherwise.

Re: Ip profile stuck at 135 kbps

I've had it plugged into the test socket for a couple of hours. BT speedtest showing ip profile at 250 Kbps, download speed of 183 and sync speed of 3776.

Re: Ip profile stuck at 135 kbps

Meant to add I only have the one phone plugged in at the moment and will leave router connected to main socket to see what happens.

Re: Ip profile stuck at 135 kbps

I've noticed this morning that my sn margin has dropped from 21.0/15.5 to 21.0/7.5.  Not sure if this is just since plugging in to main socket or not but surely this must be contributing to my problems?

Sync speed is 3776 .  Have had no disconnects since plugging into main socket , 19 odd hours ago.

Re: Ip profile stuck at 135 kbps

That isn't nice and certainly isn't helping.
Basically  you first synced at 3776kbps with presumably a default noise margin of 15dB yesterday but overnight your noise margin progressively dropped to 7.5dB or lower and the higher tones where the noise margin was really terrible were dropped. Once dropped they normally don't recover and so you are pushing the signal through a restricted frequency band.
