Ip Profile

I am on 20CN  and my speed is not that great. But what annoys me is the ip profile takes 3 days to go up but in just one re-connection it goes down instantly. In the middle of last night it disconnected  and resynced at 3992( so only just below the  3.5 limit ) so my ip profile dropped to 3MB so as soon as i realised i reconnected and it now at 4224, but my ip profile will not increase for 3 days!! Is there any thing that can be done about this? I think my line can cope with 3.5MP but it is annoying because my speed is so slow anyway.
thanks

Re: Ip Profile

I've carried out something which may sort this.
Can you try it in 4 hours?

Re: Ip Profile

when you say 4 hours do you want me to turn my router on and  off or  just refresh and get a new ip address?
thanks

Re: Ip Profile

I would not reboot the router as that causes a resynch and could put you back to where you were before.  Rather log into the router and drop the PPP (internet) session wait a couple of minutes and reconnect.
This will refresh the operational profile on the line without dropping synch which could cause problems.

Re: Ip Profile

The current synch speed should deliver a profile of 4Mbps, HOWEVER as the line remains unstable, you are not going to see an upward change of the IP Profile overly quickly.  The best course of action is to leave the router well alone to attain stability for days rather than just a few hours.
