Internet not working!!!!!!

Internet was working until couple of hours ago...Came back from shopping and it isnt working.
Tried switching off modem and router but no luck..
Called plusnet support and did the following:
1. Switching off and on modem and router in various orders
2. Resetting the router
Inspite of those when I logged into router page and tried to connect keep getting this error message:
"Concentrator could not be reached"
And the internet light on the router remains OFF... But the broadband light is ON.
The guy said he will log a fault and it could take about 24 to 48 hours to resolve..
Is it such a lengthy piece of work..Anyway it feels horrible to be without internet for the weekend but for the phone internet I am typing this from..Gutted...
Any ideas what could the problem be?

The work that needs to be done depends what the issue is so some investigation will need to be done before ourselves and our suppliers know what needs to be done.
I hope that gets resolved soon for you.

I wonder if you're all on the same gateway? All is well in Hampshire using pcl-ag04. In fact, this is the most stable & cleanest gateway which I've used.
Hope that all of your internets soon get better.

Same here.  Mine went down around the same time. 
Customer service number engaged.  Call stats shows 251 calls waiting with wait time in excess of 20 mins. So presumably affecting many customers.
No problems shown on service status page.
Live chat not available - only for sales, who don't know of any problems.
Can anyone from Plusnet enlighten us?

Mine was down too. Tried phoning PlusNet and got recorded message saying they are aware of widespread outages which they are investigating. Connected again now without doing anything. It was only the Internet connection that wasn't working on mine, everything else was fine.

Down in bn23/01323 area since nineish. Disappointed to get engaged tone for tech support rather than automated message: looks amateurish.

Would ANY PBX manage to handle that huge influx of users of incoming calls?  (thats how many it managed to connect so..)

lost Internet  /PPPoA session around 8.50 pm came back up about 9.15 pm

Internet has gone down Nuneaton, web interface just says connecting forever.
