Internet down for 5 days, now slowed to a crawl, not happy!

Please help, I've done all the requisite checks, but only getting 1.36mb on BTW checker, with Avast disabled.
Problem is much worse following loss of service and BT engineer visit. Following previous failure and engineer call-out, I was achieving 5-6mb.
Catch-up TV is unwatchable, constantly pausing.
Upload is 0.020, ping latency is 122. Further diagnostics test failed with error message.
