Internet Connectivity Issue.

Over the last couple of weeks, our internet keeps dropping. It’s been especially bad today and we’ve had numerous interruptions. It seems to drop out for a minute or less then reconnects. I’ve tried resetting the router but to no avail. Has anyone any ideas? There don’t seem to be any reported issues for our area.

OK, in that case, I'm afraid it might be a good idea to try self-help first - Plusnet staff support is a bit thin on the ground.

. If you would like help from the community, a good starting point is to have a look at This post and supply as much detail from it as possible.

It would also be a good idea to carry out a 'Quiet Line Test' - dial 17070 from a (preferably corded) phone and select option 2 - there should be no discernable noise. If there is, report a phone fault first, as without a clear phone connection, your broadband will not perform correctly.

If you reply to this topic with as much detail as possible, there are plenty of experienced members who can advise on possible remedies.

Cheers for that, nice to know I’m not the only one to be having problems. I’m going to try John’s suggestions but I’m finding it hard to understand why this has happened suddenly when connectivity has been fine up to now.

Graham - these things happen, could be a myriad reasons - cable/exchange/equipment faults and many others. The phone network was never designed to carry broadband and occasionally gets upset, your equipment may be faulty..., the list goes on.
