Intermittent issue

On and off today, the router login page has been appearing when I open Google Chrome. Have there been network issues? When it happens, it appears that I am losing connection  Sad

Re: Intermittent issue

I (and others) seem to be having similar issues - it really feels like BT fibre isn't ready for prime time - it's clearly not as reliable as Virgin Media optical. Very disappointing.

Re: Intermittent issue

The OP has ADSL, not fibre. He/she has had an issue with disconnects before too.
@ sully666 - Are you connected via the master socket or an extension? Can you hear any noise on the line?

Re: Intermittent issue

I am connected direct to the master socket.
I did notice the line seemed a little noisier than usual yesterday when phoning my power provider.
Put it down to their system, but it may not be as the line seems worse than normal.
Speed is normally always over 16Mb/s.
Have raised a fault as I am very concerned about it.

Re: Intermittent issue

You can check the noise on your phone line by dialling 17070 and doing a Quiet Line test (Option 2 I think). This will let you listen to your line without a dial tone to see if there is any noise.

Did the quiet line check and it is nowhere near as quiet as it use to be  Sad

Re: Intermittent issue

You need to report that as a fault to your telephone provider (there should be no noise, crackling, static on your line). The noise will be more than likely causing your broadband issues.

Hi there,
Sorry to hear that, our faults team will be back in touch once they've picked this up and got some test results for you. Hoping it's fixed soon.

Re: Intermittent issue

Had a real ear bashing from my son yesterday as, to quote his exact words "this bl***y internet going down is costing me matches on X-Box".
Told him I had reported it and that was all I can do.

Re: Intermittent issue

Hi sully666,
Have you connected an alternative <a href="http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/microfilters-how-and-why.shtml">Microfilter</a> and connected into your <a href="http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/master-socket-guide.shtml">Test Socket</a>?
I just wanted to double check.
