Was just wondering if anyone could throw a little lite on my problem.
I reported an issue to PlusNet regarding ADSL drop outs. I did the online line check, no issue found.
My speed was dropped to 1meg at this point
I was then advised to contact BT to test the physical line. Sure enough they came out and re-terminated all the connections.
My speed was then increased to 4meg. (And has stayed there)
The problem happens intermitently, I can surf, game or whatever for hours and then bang, the router locks up.
If i monitor the log screen prior to the lockuk up I see the following.
Statistics

ATM Cell Header Errors: 2 2 0 1:40:23

DSL Uncorrected Blocks: 352991 352991 14978 0:00:00
ISP Connection Establishment: 1 1 0 3:40:44
Now I must stress, this is very intermittent and some days may only happen once. I dont really want my speed dropping again, and to be honest, my line has been steady for a couple of years prior to this.
Router = 2 Wire 1800 (Updated to latest firmware)
Filters = all have been swapped
Line = Re terminated by BT
Connection = Main BT Socket
Me = Scratching my head.....
Anyone have any Ideas?

If it is locking up completely you probably have a faulty router. You could try updating the firmware.

My logic was that the fault seems to be intermittent, so could be down to interference from a random piece of equipment.
I an sorry to say, that after 6 hours without the issue, and me feeling a bit smug, the router locked up again.
I will be attaching a new router and filters this weekend to try and completly rule out everything I can physically touch.
So by Sunday night, I will have done the following:
Changed Filters
Changed Router
Diconnected Bell wire
Checked and re terminated internal wiring
Had BT externaly check the line
Had BT check and re terminate line at main socket.
Realy need the router swap to make a difference.
Any other sugestions greatfully accepted.

It certainly sounds like a router problem to me, but it may also be possible to 'trial' the Max product and see if that makes a difference.

I went through a week of testing with PN support wWho were excellent btw) where they started by dropping my speed down to 1meg and then gradually increasing it untill it hit the fastest stable speed. This was 4meg.
This was back when ADSL max was launched. (I have been with PN since feb 2003, lol)
If I ever get this issue sorted I would love to try the speed increase again, unless you think it may help me with this issue, in which case Max my ride baby, lol.

The Max product has improved since release - it may be worth trying it again, but rule out a hardware problem first

I swapped out the Router, the cables and filters and replaced them with completly new ones.
So far.......................................................................
The router has been up and stable for 13 hours.
I will continue to monitor and report back later in the week
(But so far, it looks like the good old 2wire 1800hg is the issue.)

I've given your line details a nudge, can you have a look what speeds you are getting now and let me know if the line becomes unstable?
