I've had my plusnet unlimited fibre for a couple of days now and all is okay with no unwanted disconnections but chatting on one of the other forums, I am advised that my IP Profile may be incorrectly set - it appears to be on 40/10 rather than the 80/20 unlimited I had ordered and am paying for.
I have used an unlocked Huawei HG612 and put on in place of the supplied ECI one to get some stats and these are showing a LOT more attainable speed -- 60Mbps/15Mbps - than my current IP Profile of 37/10 (from the BT DSL Speed Checker) allows (d/l is at this limit). This ties in with others local to me and is quite a lot higher than the BT and Plusnet pre-connection estimate of 35Mbps d/l that I suspect this profile is based on. My previous ADLS2+ connection also had a higher actual connection speed than estimated (10Mbps vs 7Mbps) and could be run at a margin of 3db for long periods on a very quiet line.
Attcahed is a graph for the past few hours of Actual vs Attainable speeds to demonstrate
So is there a chance that the profile can be raised please to a level more like it looks as though it should be and see what happens?
Thanks
Tony

I've just taken a look at this for you.
You've been placed on 40/10 due to your estimates being lower than 40/10. As you're exceeding this I've placed an order for 80/20 for you. You should notice a change to the speed tomorrow morning, any time up til midday.

Where's the green with envy emoticon when you need it? Left Hurst Gardens 2 years ago and now on a 20CN only exchange in Wiltshire without a FTTC or 21CN date!

Well the IP Profile changed at 01:00 or so this morning and at 06:00 not a lot had changed except the upload speed but after a modem power off/on all the speed testers are reporting around 56/12 Mbps on the new profile so that is a great result for a ~800m line length! I don't suppose it will last once more people are connected (I was first one on this cab [4] in Hurstpierpoint in West Sussex) due to crosstalk but whatever it's a lot faster than I had.
Many thanks again for your help.
Tony
