Improved fibre speed estimates

When i first joined plusnet i signed up to fibre broadband with a very low estimate of 2-3m download speed. I knew that was low but took a gamble as my estimate for adsl was also v low but i was getting 9-10m with my previous supplier (yes i know that vdsl signal drops of more than adsl over distances). It turned out to be somewhere in the middle syncing at 6-7m, i therefore went back to adsl (which plusnet sorted out quickly and without problems) and i know am syncing at 9.5, which has been steady for the last few days (after a snr reset).
Now out of curiosity i checked the BT dsl checker and to my surprise the fibre/adsl estimates have improved quite a bit:
FTTC Range A (Clean) 9.3 5.1 1.2 0.8 -- Available
FTTC Range B (Impacted) 7.4 3.7 1 0.5 -- Available

WBC ADSL 2+ Up to 7 -- 6 to 8 Available
WBC ADSL 2+ Annex M Up to 7 Up to 0.5 6 to 8 Available
ADSL Max Up to 4 -- 3 to 5 Available
WBC Fixed Rate 1 -- -- Available
Fixed Rate 1 -- -- Available
Other Offerings
Fibre Multicast -- -- -- Available
Copper Multicast -- -- -- Available
My question is: Has something been improved in my area or has the snr reset by plusnet done this?
I would appreciate anyones input/opinion,
Many thanks

Re: Improved fibre speed estimates

Openreach might have changed a route / cable / joint somewhere that has shortened or improved your line, and once the routing has been updated it's updated the estimates too
