Impossible to get any connection with a TG582N

I am posting here because I cannot get my TG582N to work. I experience exactly the same issues as Ramones75 ( http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,116032.0.html ).
To sum-up, when I look at the log of the router I see that the connection is established at some point and I get all the data about the line (DL/UP among other things) that proves that my line is syncing at around 8mbps. However, 40 sec later there is the message "xdsl linestate down" and the broadband LED starts flashing again, a few seconds later, the internet LED flashes and the becomes green. It stays like that 5sec and the broadband LED flashes again and so on, the full cycle restarts.
Every time the line syncs and I get the information message with the DL speed followed, a few seconds later by the message "xdsl linestate down". I have tried everything, the modem is currently plugged on the test socket of the master socket.
Can I have any help?

no doubt he had a target level fixed at the exchange

clearly your symptoms may be similar but there unlikely to be the same

If it is noise on the phone line as jelv suggests then this would need to be raised as a phone fault, but either way it'll need testing from the master socket or even better the test socket if you have one. If there's noise on the line try a single corded phone in there, if it's still noisy we need to raise that phone fault. If the line isn't noisy then please plug the router in there via a single filter and not using any extension cables, if that doesn't stop it dropping then please run through the wizard at http://faults.plus.net

I have run the wizard to try to fix the problem. I will monitor this thread should any one time comes with a solution.

i'm wondering if theres a problem with the connection setup having been changed from *always_on* to *on_demand* or if your devices are causing a problem with the router (i.e. data or power saving by sending a disconnect signal to it via magic pattern) its not exactly likely but its always possible
