Images not loading on google images, google books etc.

I have the problem that images on google image searches (and also it seems on yahoo and bing searches too) won't load, or if they do they take minutes to load. This problem sometimes happens on google books too. Could this perhaps be because it's pulling images from so many sites?
I'm fairly new to plusnet (about two weeks) and recently received the email to tell me my actual speed compared to the predicted and it simply said 'no data'.
Anyone else having this problem?

How long have you been connected, it can take up to 10 days to get to full speed

Re: Images not loading on google images, google books etc.

My general speed seems to be fine (accept it sometimes clogs up in peak times). But even when everything else is running really fast I cannot get google images to load, sometimes yahoo images works and sometimes it doesn't. It's quite frustrating! Why could this problem only be happening to these select sites?

Try rebooting PC and power cycling router and see if the problem remains. Sometimes a router can go into a funny state where it affects some sites but not others.

Re: Images not loading on google images, google books etc.

Well changing these values in Firefox (mac) has corrected the problem:
network.http.max-connections to 6 (from about 30 I think)
network.http.max-connections-per-server to 2
It means I have to use Firefox though (which I don't really want to). So it seems that plusnet couldn't handle a high number of connections at the same time, any expert care to explain?

not really.  I am on XP SP3.  I have had two net books, one laptop and an Archos all connected at the same time through a thompson router, this laptop is via ethernet (no Wifi on it), one net book is XP, both the XPs are on Firefox 3.5.4, the other netbook is on Linux and an old version of firefox, the archos is using Opera,  I also have a GPS program that doesnt use a browser but gets Google maps direct.  No problems running that lot together
Also Flickr doesnt use a browser, nor does OE mail and that get pictures

Did you try what I suggested?
Your browser makes direct connections to the remote websites, Plusnet has no involvement in the connections made. If it is a problem with the number of connections, your router could still be the problem.
I have used thousands of connections without any issues so it's not a plusnet problem.

Hi all,
We suspect this is down to the current network issues that we're having, unfortunately. Keep your eyes on http://status.plus.net for updates.
I know this is being said a lot, but sorry, and thanks for being patient with us while we get this sorted.
