Hello I have done a bBTW performance test and it is saying the profile is capped at 2Mbs
Download speed achieved during the test was - 1.95 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 0.8 Mbps-2 Mbps.
IP Profile for your line is - 2 Mbps
also i have carries out the dsl checker which comes back as

so my question is, why is it capped so low and is this a normal speed to be receiving.
also the internet does seem to drop out quite often, the tech team have had a look and have said nothing is wrong .
i am currently using a brand new plusnet router, new microfilter, high speed ADSL cable in the test socket
any and all help would be much appreciated .

Note you are comparing data speeds against synch speed estimates -,they are not the same metric.
In another browser tab, login into the Plusnet user portal BEFORE clicking the fault & ticket links
Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Sorry to hear you're having issues.
Your speeds have restricted due to the amount of drops on your line shown below.
We need to get the drops sorted first and that in turn should bring your speeds back up.
I'd recommend raising a fault here
