Hi,
I had a problem with my broadband speed where it was running at 400kbps. The throughput was about 950kbps and this was tracked to a broken filter on a telephone extension. Since that was replaced throughput has increased to 3200kbps, but my speed still remains at 400kbps.
Did a bt speedster test and my IP profile was 2500kbps (see attached) so what's going on plus net friends?!!??!
Note: might I mention that this happened yesterday. Just read a thread where plus net restrictions lag behind bt profile changes.
Router stats:
DSL Status: Up
DSL Modulation Mode: GDMT
DSL Path Mode: INTERLEAVED
Downstream Rate: 3168 Kbps
Upstream Rate: 448 Kbps
Downstream Margin: 9 db
Upstream Margin: 19 db
Downstream Line Attenuation: 55
Upstream Line Attenuation: 31
Downstream Transmit Power: 0
Upstream Transmit Power: 0

Welcome to the nearly Honest Forums
You PN profile is here https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=data_transfer_speed
normally the PN profile lags behind the BT one by about 12 hours and updates at about 10 in the morning

Ok thanks. Not sure when BT profile was updated, but I guess the throughput should normalise tomorrow.

I have manually updated the profile for you and there will be a brief drop in your connection to allow it to fully activate.
Looking at your line though, I don't expect it to hold at the current profile for very long and suspect there may be more to the problem than just a broken filter.

Thanks for the manual intervention. I can confirm my PN profile has gone up to 2500.
Broadband speed is just a tadger over 1Mbps, and at this new address connection speed seems to be about half of throughput. It's around 3000m from the exchange, the router is in the master socket, the ringer wire is not connected, so why the pessimism???
TBH as long as Iplayer and youtube are usable I'm reasonably un-grumbly about the service. I won't bother mentioning about the ridiculously low daytime torrent speeds... (not tried at night). You get what you pay for I suppose.

Speedjump as of this morning:
speedtest:
2.3mbps
Latency has been jumping from 45 - 85ms but router stats are good (I think).
DSL Status: Up
DSL Modulation Mode: GDMT
DSL Path Mode: INTERLEAVED
Downstream Rate: 3136 Kbps
Upstream Rate: 448 Kbps
Downstream Margin: 15 db
Upstream Margin: 19 db
Downstream Line Attenuation: 55
Upstream Line Attenuation: 31
Downstream Transmit Power: 0
Upstream Transmit Power: 0
I think my line is going to be up and down according all sorts of external factors coming and going.
