I think my exchange now has 21CN..

Just put my phone number into dslchecker.bt.com and it says Our test also indicates that your line currently supports ADSL2+
Can you please check this and let me know?

Re: I think my exchange now has 21CN..

If the DSL checker against your phone number says it has been upgraded - then it has.
This is the definitive source.
As to whether you will gain from being switched to 21CN/ADSL2+ depends on your connection, how far you are from the exchange and your sync speed etc...
In short your router's stats will give you an idea.
Those further away will gain nothing.
I understand Plusnet swap groups of subscribers over in batches following a particular exchange upgrade.
I guess they do those most  likely to benefit the most first.

Re: I think my exchange now has 21CN..

Reading on the BT ASDL checker the spped shows I'll gain but not a massive jump even if it's a few MB I'll be very happy.
Anyway of making sure I'm in the 1st group to be switched over?

Re: I think my exchange now has 21CN..

The exchange has definitely been upgraded as I've just been able to place an order to move your line on to ADSL2+ on 21CN Smiley
More details about the order are on ticket 52752794.

Re: I think my exchange now has 21CN..

No as the change involve moving you to the new equipment so you will lose both telephone and broadband when this is done from a few seconds to a few minutes. When reconnected the adsl router will then resync.

Re: I think my exchange now has 21CN..

Thank you, what new equipment, do I need to purchase a new router? If so what’s the recommended make and model so I’m ready for the 8th.

Re: I think my exchange now has 21CN..

I think @itsme is referring to equipment in the exchange not your router.
However your router will need to be compatible with the ADSL2+ service. Which router is it?

TG585v8
definitely yes,

DG834GT
it depends on exactly what version it is, a check on the device or packaging and a little googling should hopefully help you clear that up.

Re: I think my exchange now has 21CN..

Hi Matt, i still have the DG834GT box and it says ADSL 2+ modem. i did put the latest firmware on it a few weeks back so it should be fine, if not i guess i could switch back to the TG585v8 and use the Netgear as my acess point.
