I don't know what phone cable you're talking about, but the engineer strung a new cable from the pole where the switchboard is that goes to my room.

@DS Your analysis above is what I suspect has happened, but I suspect (a) the OPs first language isn't English, and i also suspect the landlord has slipped up.
I'll not comment further.

When you took out your own personal contract with Plusnet, did you ask for a Business Account?
No
Did he install a NEW line from the outside to your room?
Yes
It's sounding like the 'original account' is trying to take 'yours' back
I have asked the owner, I am waiting for an answer

In that case, I think you may have had a new line installed, but it somehow cancelled the original one.

Call Plusnet NOW on either of the numbers you have or that has been suggested to you by @MisterW
You NEED to explain that this is a house of multiple occupancy (HMO) and that Two (2) INTERNET connections are required.
I'm wondering if the original was copper and your new one if fibre optic and someone has only taken the one address as one account.

Ok. Call Plusnet on either number and see what they say.
I have no idea why you were given a Business Account
If a new line was ran from the telegraph pole to yours and the original line was the same (you can have copper or fibre optic - the latter needs a device near the router and plugged into the mains) then I can only assume human error 'killed' the other line
I guess it's plausible that your landlord had a business account with Plusnet and they've only looked at the history for that line
But call them
