I have received an odd email from Plusnet and am worried.

I have received an email saying "We have asked our wholesale broadband suppliers to turn interleaving off at your request.
The stability of your service may suffer as a result of turning interleaving off. If you have problems and want to turn interleaving back on, you will need to use the Broadband Fault Checker at our website - http://faults.plus.net/
Interleaving usually takes 24 hours to turn off, but can take up to 5 days to take effect."
I haven't asked them to do anything other than going onto Unlimited from tomorrow.  I can't find the phone number of the help line so I am asking here.
Please help .
I don't even understand what interleaving means.

Re: I have received an odd email from Plusnet and am worried.

Plusnet have set up a script which is moving people from interleaved to fastpath (least I think it's still called fastpath) which will lower your ping rates and if you're on ADSL2+ will uncap your upload to 1Mb.  There isn't really anything to worry about, if they turn it off and your line becomes unstable they can just switch it back on again but odds are you won't even notice when it's been switched off.

That answer is not correct - they aren't moving people over - it is a spurious email generated as part of the product change process

The uncapped upload is also being done in batches but I have no idea where they are on that as I was uncapped which killed my line stability - as I expected -  so I had it recapped

@David W
I've just raised an order to uncap the upstream for you. That should complete tomorrow.
Happy to raise orders for anyone else that might need it, I'll do my best to catch these ASAP depending on how many come through/how much I regret making this post Smiley

Re: I have received an odd email from Plusnet and am worried.

Pro:  Faster uploads (good for Skype, sending large emails).
Con:  A small minority of users suffer problems when their upload speed is uncapped.
