Ok so in my old house I was 4.4km away from my exchange and got 32ms ping. Now I am 1.2km from the exchange but with 55ms ping. Do I have some type of fault on my line or something?
I did have the pro add-on but after finding out it does literally nothing in regards of ping times I removed it. Interleaving is off I believe. If I chose to upgrade to Fibre (30mb) will this drop my latency at all?
Everything wired.
Thanks, and some stats if you wish to know.
DSP Firmware Version A2pB025f.d22k
DMT Status No Defect
Operational Mode ADSL2+
Upstream 440
Downstream 15192
SNR Margin(Upstream) 28.8
SNR Margin(Downstream) 4.0
Line Attenuation(Upstream) 17.8
Line Attenuation(Downstream) 32.0

Latency is how long it takes for a server to respond to you. It is different depending on which server you are checking. 55ms latency is pretty good tbh. Where are you seeing that number from?
It might be worth doing a traceroute to the server that you are measuring the latency from, that might highlight something.

Are you absolutely sure Interleaving is off, both down and upstream - it may be worth checking! If you can display error figures from your modem/router line stats, that may give you a good idea.
Try pinging bbc.co.uk and ntp.plus.net and see what results you get.

Thanks for the replies.
I am doing these tests on pingtest.net and cmd, I only moved 10 min down the road so not sure why I have a higher ping time, and yes I agree 55 is pretty good is most situations but I am all for gaming so it doesn't help me at all. I am not 100 percent sure about the interleaving, maybe someone can check it for me please? I am doing these tests to the same server as I did in my other house by the way.
I have done two traces to bbc.co.uk and ntp.plus.net

Try hopping to a different gateway and check your pings. Maybe pcl-ag04 is slow today.
