Hub One USB port hard drive compatibility

Hi, I have recently purchased a Seagate Backup Plus 4TB hard drive but my Hub One router doesn’t recognise it. If I plug a USB flash drive in its fine and both work when plugged into my Win 7 PC.
Does anyone know how I can get the router to recognise the drive please? I want to use it as storage for all my music so that my Sonos can access it and as a back up to the various devices we have on the network.

without checking - I seem to remember that adding a hard drive isn't supported

Re: Hub One USB port hard drive compatibility

As its based on the BT Home Hub 5, there is a size limit for any USB drives - have a look on the BT Community
If you have not used it yet, you may be able to return it or exchange it for a NAS, which will have more featured and better transfer speeds.

Re: Hub One USB port hard drive compatibility

Thanks for you replies. I spoke to PlusNet Support who don't support the use of the USB in the router at all Undecided Also read through the BT Community forum and it seems anything over 500gb won't work on the Home Hub 5 which I can confirm this router is based on. Looks like I'll be sending it back then.
