Re: How to remove errors registered on my line

Just a couple more settings and it should run ok. Close the Configuration window for the time being.
Select the main Noise Margin tab. In the bottom LH corner there is a check box which needs checking to plot the graph. Make sure it is checked on both the Downsream and Upstream tabs. Do the same on the Sync speed tab for Downstream and Upstream.
Whilst you are on each of those graphs, do a right click whilst the cursor is in the graph area. You should see Scheduled capture ticked and further down the list, put a tick against Include in Log.
Go back to the Noise Margin tab and click on the Green arrow key and it should start.

Re: How to remove errors registered on my line

If it's running OK you should see the graphs plotting and at the top (centre) you should see the Rx Noise and Rx Sync figures.

Re: How to remove errors registered on my line

There are a couple more things it would be nice to monitor, but as I don't run the Billion, I need some feed back from you. When you were on the Graphs, Common Settings tab was the Sample every 8 seconds set  OK, or was it greyed out at 60 seconds?

Re: How to remove errors registered on my line

OK, don't worry, we'll check out the various bits, at least it's plotting if you can see a line at zero, it's just not getting the data. Are there any figures at the Top centre for Sync or Noise.

Re: How to remove errors registered on my line

Select the Configuration Icon and go to the Router Login & Logout tab. Check that you have the Correct modem/router login name (not your plusnet one!) and the modem/router password. Has the line for the url got anything in it - can you post what it is?

Re: How to remove errors registered on my line

That's OK, not a problem. Don't do it (yet if you didn't), did you remember to copy the Billion.ini file from the Other Routers folder into the same folder as RouterStats.exe before you started - and oh damn, as I typed I realised I should have told you to rename it. There will be a Routerstats.ini file there now anyway. No it's my fault. Try filling in the box and see whether it runs. How are you for time? OK here.
Edit: I don't think it will, there will be some vital settings missing. depending on how you are for time there are 2 ways of doing this.

Re: How to remove errors registered on my line

OK the safest way, but a bit boring, is to rename the Routerstats.ini file to something like rubbish.ini  and then rename the Billion7800N.ini to RouterStats.ini (we are talking about the copy in the same folder as the RouterStats.exe), then you have to go through all those settings again, you should be able to do it quicker as you know what to expect, I'm really sorry  Embarrassed

Re: How to remove errors registered on my line

OK, no problem. You should have created a folder, I suggested C:\RouterStats68, to which you extract all the files from routerstats68.zip.
In that folder you should now find another folder called OtherRouters. In that folder you will find a file called Billion7800N.ini .Copy (not move) it up to the C:\RouterStats68 folder. Now, if you already have a RouterStats.ini file in this folder rename it to rubbish.ini or delete it, then rename this copy of Billion7800N.ini to RouterStats.ini. You should also have created a shortcut to RouterStats.exe on your Desktop.
The other folder you should have created, I suggested in My Documents or on your Desktop was one called just plain Routerstats. This is the folder where the Graphs and log files will get saved, and the one that you browse to when setting up the Log file and the Capture folder. If it's confusing you with similar names, call it something else such as RScapture if you like. Just remember to Browse to that folder for the Log File and  the Graphs Capture folder.
If you now continue the setup from the words ...."Now we have some setting up to do" in the second paragraph, and follow through the next few posts following.
If that's still confusing post back telling me the point at which you are confused and I'll try and clarify. It's all a bit hairy to start with, but don't worry about it.

Re: How to remove errors registered on my line

How long has it been going now? If say it's been over half an hour, do a right click on each of the noise margin graphs and click on Capture now.
Then got to the plain Routerstats folder or RScapture which ever you called it, you should see the .jpg files of the capture. You should also see the RSlog2012-6-17.txt file (today's) which should be recording data. Post the 2 .jpg's and the top page (using copy and paste into a post) of the RSlog, just so I can see it's recording correctly.
We'll see what that's all looking like before doing any more.
You know how to attach files to a post?
