Hi Everyone - Thanks for the replies. I am pleased with the speed increase that has been achieved through advice from this forum. However I would like to get better download speed eventually. So I will monitor SNR Margin and reboot as advised. It is not happenning yet though. There is a mention of line stability in the replies. My measure of stability is whether the internet is working each morning. In the past many days in the week that was not the case and I had to reboot the router. Since installing the new faceplate the internet connection has been 100%. What is Plusnet's measure of stability?
Regards and thanks again.

It's not so much PN's measure of stability but BT's
It's essentially a period of continuous sync without ANY drops or lower sync. Increases in sync are ok as I've explained.
As far as the exchange DLM goes the period could be 14 -28 days, as far as a manual reset goes well, at least a week, you're unlikely to convince anyone with less.

Hi
If anyone is interested below is the track of my broadband speed since I started seeking help from this forum:
3/11 4/11 6/11 9/11 14/11 25/11
Download speed 1040kps 956kps 1164kps 1089kps 26044kps 3057kps
DSL Conn rate Down 1856kps 3872kps 3808kps 3808kps 3904kps 4480kps
UP 448kps 448kps 448kps 448kps 448kps 448kps
IP Profile 1500kps 3000kps 3000kps 3000kps 3000kps 3500kps
Router up time 47hrs 110hrs 4 minutes 64hrs
SN Margin (Down) 12.9db 14.9db 15.4db 12.3db
Attenuation 40db 40db 40db
So thanks for all the help and advice I have received. The main action that helped improve the speed was to stabilise the router by installing an ADSLNation faceplate on 3/11/9. I have had to reboot the router twice since then due to one power failure and a one off loss of connection to exchange after very heavy rain. I have been waiting as advised for SNR margin to rise to a stable 16db to do a force reboot but it seems to be stable at 12.3db of late. I am pleased with the current speed but would like to get more improvement. How I will do that I am not sure. Any thoughts?
Regards.

I'm glad things are improving. I've noted your stats, if you could post some more in a day or so, say Friday mid/late evening and Saturday daytime (0930-1400) I'll suggest some more specific action.
