How to get max speed?

Re: How to get max speed?

Speed increased slightly from 2400 to 2435 but that is all. Worth an experiment. As you say, it appears most likely down to the router itself. Prior to this I never realised the dramatic effect a change in router would have on connection speed.

Re: How to get max speed?

Well that's assuming nothing else is going on. Too late today, but you may want to experiment with your other '60 tomorrow.
If so, don't forget to get RSL running before you sync so we can check the start of the SNRM graph. The reason we went  for this new one was that hopefully it (& the PSU) were all hunky dory. As we know the PSU wasn't, so...... the other '60 might be worth another try. (The '61 you'd just have to keep as emergency back up for now - although when all your issues are resolved you could always test it again to see if it is really cooked).
Edit: check your ticket - if need be, put a comment on - Still testing modem/routers - (just to keep it open).

Re: How to get max speed?

Thanks. I'll give the other '60 a whirl tomorrow then. When I'm 100% confident that the connection is fine I may well decide to purchase a new router with new PSU that I have complete confidence in.
Thanks, will do so.

Re: How to get max speed?

I think the '60 has a double whammy on speed in that it increases the SNRM to 3db, but also the loop loss from 60 to 64.

Re: How to get max speed?

I assume you mean increases the SNRM by 3dB, but you forget, the other readings my not be accurate as it was being cooked.
So any news, stats, graphs with the old '60?

Re: How to get max speed?

Correct about the 3db, my mistake!
Apologies, I completely forgot to switch it over with everything that has been happening. Have just done so - here are the graphs for the first 10 minutes or so.

Re: How to get max speed?

Well not such a great idea to swap after dark/after an hour before sunset, lost some sync speed there. If the SNRM stay at around 7dB and better in daylight you'll maybe get most of it back. Is this '60 the same firmware as the other?

Re: How to get max speed?

I was having troubles with the new '60 which had turned sluggish when streaming for some reason so I had been considering a resync anyway. It will be interesting to see how the speed fare tomorrow. It is interesting to note that the SNRM has increased significantly again, and as you say the SNR is now around the 7 mark. I shall post some more graphs tomorrow.

That's encouraging at least.

Re: How to get max speed?

Just carried out resync. Speed has recovered slightly but is still suffering quite a bit compared to the other two routers. SNRM climbed and certainly was quite steady before the resync (flat lines). Hard to know what's good or bad though, given this stability is at the expense of speed. Loop loss is still around the 67-68 mark too.

Re: How to get max speed?

Stats are still the same as graphs posted previously. Connection seems very sluggish though, and SamKnows box seems to agree. BTW speedtest results seem very erratic and inconsistent.

Re: How to get max speed?

I just downloaded TeamViewer for use diagnosing a problem with some software I have on another PC. The 6.3mb download was very erratic and would not hold a constant speed. If you check out the DU Meter bottom right of the attached screenshot you can see. The green line is where the download started.
