How long should the test take?

I rand support this morning with speed issues and was asked to connect to www.btspeedtester.bt.com
I have and after one false start managed to start the test.
I have now been looking at the screen which syas do not do anything else for about 20 min I have on the screen 2 % completion bars, one of which says "No of threads are 4!" and the other "Progress 96 %"
Before I ran the test I was getting what you might cvall intermittant speed.  Good when working but only working for a few second and then a long pause.
I can see running the three requested test may be a little tricky under the circumstances.

Re: How long should the test take?

Try using the "refresh page" icon on your top toolbar....  you may go back a page, and have to use your login name again, but it might just "kick start" it.......  If you have ZoneAlarm  then it may well be blocking it.... try using it with ZA disabled..... then re-enable it after wards......
as Old jim says..... normally about 3 or 4 minutes to complete...
