How does a new Plusnet router autoconnect.

Not a problem here for a change,
But just got a new plus.net router with a contract, it say's plug it in and your up and running in 15 mins. and it's right!
Back in my day, I would setup my username and password. So how does these new boxes do it automatically? or are they manually set on a per-account basis before sending out.

in the case of Plusnet it validates the router serial number against the phone number being connected and sets it up accordingly

Ah, thanks. Interesting.
So is the router locked to my plus net account, or can I override it if required?

Not locked - just disable tr69 and enter whatever connection details you need.
