How do I reuse a Plusnet router found in flat for my new account?

I have just signed up to plusnet broadband and after nearly a month have still not received my new router. I have found a 2 year old, fully functioning plusnet router in the flat in the meantime - and want to have a go at using this to access my new account.
Easy steps for how?

The router could be linked to another account.
