How do I get my IP profile to update

After a short drop in speed (about 20 minutes) due to the automatic system bouncing my default noise margin up to 15dB, for no obvious reason,  I forced it back down to 9dB and synched at 3776kbps.
After 5 days the IP profile still hadn't changed so I did a manual resync - it is now 4 days 17 hours later and the IP profile still hasn't changed.

Download speedachieved during the test was - 2222 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 1000-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :3776 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 2742 Kbps
The throughput of Best Efforts (BE) classes achieved during the test is - 13.81:23.33:62.85 (SBE:NBE:PBE)
These figures represent the ratio while sententiously passing Sub BE, Normal BE and Priority BE marked traffic.

This really isn't acceptable so what can Plusnet do about it.

Re: How do I get my IP profile to update

Update - The workmen fitting the double glazing unplugged the router without asking - hence the resync this morning.
Hopefully I modified the noise margin before the exchange picked it up when reconnecting and am now back at 3,776kbps

... so what can Plusnet do about it.

You of all people surely know the answer to this, Oldjim?
AFAIK under the right circumstances Plusnet can:
1)  Ask for a stuck IP Profile to be unstuck
2)  Ask for the DLM to be reset to training mode
Maybe (1) is actually the same as (2), I'm not sure.

Re: How do I get my IP profile to update

Re (1) I have no idea whether they can or not when it isn't stuck due to an initial setting of 2,000 say
Re (2) I may go for a retrain but not until I am sure everything is OK - need to wait for some heavy rain
General - If I had known I wouldn't have asked the question  Crazy

Re: How do I get my IP profile to update

I had a stuck IP Profile a while back that Plusnet were able to unstick for me.
General: Oldjim, you seem so knowledgeable in other areas of broadband faults I had presumed you would know about this also.

Re: How do I get my IP profile to update

An IP profile can very occasionally get stuck, just raise a fault in the normal manner with clear notes and we'll get it changed for you.

Re: How do I get my IP profile to update

Thanks Ben,
After the involuntary disconnection this morning as described above I will leave it for 4 days before bothering the faults team just to see if it has fixed itself
In view of the IP profile reported by the speedtest can you increase my Plusnet profile to 2742kbps to match  Grin Grin Grin

Re: How do I get my IP profile to update

I didn't think an IP profile of 2742 was possible. Doesn't it just increase in 500Kbps bands?

Re: How do I get my IP profile to update

Profiles are detailed here.
You can occasionally get a non-standard profile, I have no idea why.

Go ahead - it will be interesting to see if the IP profile is really 2742 and a speed test may confirm it

Re: How do I get my IP profile to update

Download speed achieved during the test was - 2672 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 1000-2742 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Assured Rate IP profile on your line is - 2742 Kbps
Even less bothered about waiting for the profile to increase to 3000kbps unless of course it increases to another intermediate figure
