Re: House move query

Thanks Jojo
I now have internet up & running at my new house  Smiley
Could you check that we are on adsl2 please? Really hoping to get better speeds than the 6-7mb I was limited to before...
At the moment (according to speedtest.net) we are limited to 2.5mb but I am guessing that is due to the training period on the new line?
Thanks for all your help
Sam

Re: House move query

Hi sammieblue,
There are no line stats yet as the order is not due to complete until tomorrow so I can't check anything yet.

Re: House move query

Hi  Jojo,
Are you able to check now?
It would appear I am still on ADSL as my speeds are limited to the usual 6.5mb,,,
Thanks

Re: House move query

HI sammieblue,
Ok, here's the answer...
as you were on 20cn it is moved over as 20cn and once it is active we then place the order to reprovide on to 21cn. I have just placed that order for you so that should complete in 7 days. You may notice a short amount of downtime on the day while they move your connection from one technology to the other.

Re: House move query

Morning Joanne
Since your post confirming my order to change to ADSL2 I have had two emails containing this message:
There's been a problem with processing your broadband order. Once we've got more details, we'll deal with this and contact you if we need to.
However, around the same time I received messages from Plusnet informing me that my house move had completed
I'm unsure what the latest email refers to & if I should take any notice of it?
Thanks
Sam

Hi sammieblue,
I'll have a look into that for you and see what I can find out.

Any luck Jojo?
Just abit anxious, really hoping the changeover all goes through okay on Thursday.
Any idea whether it will be morning/afternoon/evening?
I'm not really sure how it works  Huh

Re: House move query

Hi sammieblue,
It appears that your exchange is not yet enabled for 21CN. When I checked this on samknows it does seem to be, although on closer inspection its enabled date is in the future (see here); quite misleading really! Sorry to have gotten your hopes up, but apparently it will be enabled at the end of May.

Re: House move query

Very confusing!
http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/ says it is enabled.
http://community.plus.net/21cn-exchange-availability/ says it's enabled.
What does http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/adslchecker.welcome say?

Re: House move query

That comes back showing ADSL2 is enabled...
"Our test also indicates that your line currently supports an estimated ADSL2+ broadband line speed of 17Mbps; typically the line speed would range between 10Mbps and 19.5Mbps. Our test also indicates that your line could support an estimated ADSL 2+ Annex-M broadband upstream line speed of 1.5Mbps and downstream line speed of 12Mbps; typically the downstream speed would range between 11Mbps and 13Mbps."
Not sure if there's some confusion there or what, but it's certainly confusing me!
However out of curiosity I've placed a manual upgrade order to 21CN, that's due for completion on the 22nd so we'll see where that goes. Odd conflicting information  Undecided

Re: House move query

Thanks all.
I have been confused by it for a couple of years.
From info on samknows I have always expected it to be ready by June 1st 2011.
However, each time I ring Plusnet concerning speed issues or a housemove (had a couple) I am told I can expect 17mb, I query it but they assure me I am able to get adsl2 but when the connection goes live I am still on adsl.
Looking forward to enjoying adsl2, whether it be next week or in June, fingers crossed its next week.
Thanks
Sam
